HELP with do....

HELP with do....

Hi all-
I'm having a problem downloading again. I cannot download unless I do it through my "WC Browser". Furthermore, the skins downloaded with the browser do not show up on my "WB Config", nor in "skin studio" if I have to alter something.
I am a level 4 user. Not only can I not download but as soon as I sign in the ratings disappear. This has been an ongoing problem since summer. Someone helped me straighten it out before but it's happening again and it's getting to be a real nuisance. > Please help.

sorry I didn't see the bottom where you said California.
I'll go uninstall.

Check the pic...it won't let me un-install.

Yeah...I thought that might happen....Go into C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral and double click 'Unwise'

This is going to sound real lame but... how do I do that?

If you double click on that file in the above folder it should give you a dialog box to un-install. If you want, you can copy the 'Install.log' file from the same folder to the root drive. It would be C:/Install.log. and then go thru the control panel to un-install.

I can't get beyond this (see pic) no matter what I do....I can't seem to un-install.

After I double click "Unwise"....that's what I get everytime.

OK...let's try one more way and then we're going re-install SDC right over the one you have. Copy both 'Install.log' (which you already may have done) and copy 'Unwise' from the SDCentral folder to c:/. What you should have then is C:/Install.log and C:/Unwise. Double click on that 'Unwise' file (C:/Unwise) and it should un-install. If it does not then install the downloaded SDC file right over the one you have and re-boot.

Wow...that's amazing. OK this will take awhile (I'll take that time to sleep). but using SDC un-install each program and when your done, re-boot. Open SDC and Refresh App Data. It should now show correct version numbers to install. If it does...install everything and WB will work. If not then we're going to have to figure out to dump that SDC proggie. When it's all said and done, I think SDC is the under lying problem (while the wrong versions of some apps are not letting WB work correctly). If the wrong version numbers come up again then delete that C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral folder and re-install the downloaded SDC again (do not re-boot until after you re-install). If you have any questions, ask now or it will have to wait till later today.

BTW: you can use this if you want and it will un-install Stardock software (use which ever you want)https://www.stardock.com/files/odnt_zapper.exe

Just remember...the mission is to get everything related to Stardock off your machine (including even SDC if you can) and starting with a fresh SDC install and fresh installs of the proggies you want. I want to hear good news later today.....I become very un-pleasant when I hear bad news

Good luck

....'nite

Hi Yrag,
This is what I got after using the link on #35.... not too sure what to do next.... was that what was supposed to happen?
OK, I'm really lost now....I went to check and everything looks the same and SDC is still there.
What a minute...did you un-install anything as described in beginning of #35?

BTW: don't panic..it's not as bad as you might think.

No, Zapper is not suppose to do that...but it re-enforces my thinking that your installs are wacked. If you deleted everything you could (including deleteing that C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral folder) then re-install SDC [remember, don't re-boot until after you re-install SDC]. After re-boot re-install each proggie and re-start as necessary.

Yep, when I opened the link it gave me the option to select all, which I did, so there was a check mark next to all the programs that I wanted to un-install. It appeared to un-install but when I went to check SDC everything looked the same.
However, I just clicked on the #35 link and now nothing shows up as if there were nothing left to un-install!?

OK...re-boot and then do #46. Look at my profile and those are the versions you're looking for...

Before I do all that I just have a question... in "All Programs" I have Stardock, Stardock Curdor XP, WinCustomize, and Object Dock all with their own menus and sub-menus is that the way it's supposed to be? It's kind of confusing, but I just wanted to check with ya.
That's fine ....re-boot
