HELP with do....

Hi all-
I'm having a problem downloading again. I cannot download unless I do it through my "WC Browser". Furthermore, the skins downloaded with the browser do not show up on my "WB Config", nor in "skin studio" if I have to alter something.
I am a level 4 user. Not only can I not download but as soon as I sign in the ratings disappear. This has been an ongoing problem since summer. Someone helped me straighten it out before but it's happening again and it's getting to be a real nuisance. > Please help.

the ratings don't disappear they move. Click on comments on the skin you want to see the rating of and you shall see.

Hi 1/4 Crazy Travis-
Perhaps I should have been more clear. I know they don't disappear but it seems logical to me that if one has certain advantages when paying it would be easier to view the ratings when logged in rather than more difficult because one is a paying member. The only reason I make that comment is because before I purchased anything I could view the ratings whether I was logged in or not. I'm not really upset about the ratings... it just seems like it would be the other way around.

Ok...just wanted to make sure we're on the same page. Download this https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=1&SkinID=3764 to a temp folder. I need to know what type of file it shows as and what happens when you double click it.

Gary- Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I uploaded a pic if you click on my name. I can't get it to open regardless of what I do. I tried double clicking, right clicking, open with WB.....nothing works.

The file is correct and your 'puter recognizes it.
#1 Why don't I see a WB icon in the system tray or Taskbar?
#2 Do you show WBLoad.exe running in taskmanager?

Click on my name... the icon near the clock was hidden, and I took a pic of the taskmanager. Is that what you meant?

Yeah...that's what I needed. I know we checked a lot of stuff the last time (file assoc. and whatnot) but maybe something is changing your settings.... let's keep it simple for the time being. Open WBConfig and click 'install from Disk' and point to that downloaded file....does it install?

Hmmmmm.....ok, let's start at the beginning.
#1 - What version of WB do you have installed? (look in SDC)
#2 - Did you ever have a 'trial' or 'Shareware' version installed?
#3 - Do you have a Firewall or Pop-up (or cookie) killer installed?
#4 - What is the file path to your WB folder?
#5 - What is the version of Skin Studio? Make sure you're not talking about WinStyles/ThemeManager. I could use those versions too (again look in SDC)

#2. Yes, I tried WB before I bought it.
#3. I have a "sygate Firewall" but, I have everything related to WinCustomize on "always allow".
#4. File path to WB is C:. program files> stardock> object desktop> windowblinds (which is slightly different from my "Browser" path.
#5. I'm not sure if #1 answers #5 as well.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Make sure that SDC is set to show 'pre-release versions' (lower left corner). Most of your apps are old and some aren't even beta. The dates are mostly right and the versions are wrong. We need to correct SDC before we move on, although that in itself may solve the problem.
These are the versions you should have installed:
Object Media-1.00g.006
ThemeManager-2.00.008 (same will show for WinStyles)
DesktopX-2.00.008
Skin Studio Pro-4.00.006
Object Bar-1.65.004
Control Center-192.005

Oddly enough, you WB version is correct.

You need to make sure your installed version of SDC is-1.21.241.Build 37

Hummmm... try right clicking on one of the apps and click on : Archive-Restore/Restore Existing. Make sure before you do that you click on the Tools Tab at top and "Check for app updates". Let me know....we may have to trash this copy of SDC...BTW, make sure you have the correct SDC version.

I've gotten a "stardock has encountered a problem and needs to close" notice several times. When I tried to do the "Restore Existing"... This is what I got(see pic) and I don't know what to do with it.
How do I make sure I've got the correct SDC version?

Also when I clicked on the Tools Tab to check for "app updates" it appeared to download something but nothing really changed as far as the version.

OK... download this (it is a direct download) http://storage.stardock.com/files/stardockcentral111a.exe . Un-install SDC thru the Control Panel. Delete this folder C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral and re-boot. Install your downloaded file and let it auto update. After it updates (you may have to open/close SDC several times) re-boot again and see if the correct versions of apps now show. One thing to do before all that is check in SDC Tools/settings/Connection and make sure you're set to the "Atlanta' server.

Damn the server changed....make sure it says California1
