A new year and words you can't use

banished words.

An interesting beginning to the new year. Words like epic ... fail and 'refudiate' ... he he ... are no longer allowed.

It is silly because these are real words. They used to have different meanings way back when, that is all.  :typo:

I know that but they don't. The one exception is 'refudiate'. Sarah Palin coined it. It should have been repudiate.

Hmmm, the only words that you probably shouldn't use are the ones that you don't know the meaning of.  :O

Don't want to confuse the person that you are having a disussion with now do you? :-"

My wife has told me that "I'm watching MMA tonight" are words that I won't be needing this year.>:(

Yep, she keeps babbling and people keep feeding her cash.  It is pretty amazing.  Reality tv merges into politics.

I never even heard of "refudiate" before.  "Man Up"?  Really? ;P   Whatever happened to "macho"? (I think this was banned some time ago as well.)  And "epic" really has become cliché as well.  It's abused by today's youth.  (I'm probably stating the obvious here. hehe.)  BFF?  As far as i'm concerned it's just an abbriveation, not a word.  As I recall, all English words have to have at least one vowel (or a "Y") in order to be considered a word.  BFF is certainly NOT a word.

How can a video be "viral"?  Most videos doesn't contain viruses.  Well, I guess it could be planted with malware.

I can agree that some words like "fail" are here to stay.  They'll never disappear from our language, EVER!  It's just that our language changes with the times.  Can we imagine people still saying "totally tubular" or "gnarly" these days?  Probably not.  20 years from now, people will probably have no idea who the "mama grizzlies" were or what they stood for.

This list is an epic fail (LOL).  (I know that LOL isn't a word but hey, neither is BFF. o_O

Truer words have yet to be spoken. In Sarah Palin's case ...... meh.

Am I just blind, or is there no actual link to the full list?
