Object Dock 2 Customization help

Hello, I new here and have just purchased the Object Desktop and have been trying the programs out. I also have gotten the ObjectDock 2 Plus I have tried every means possible to add new backgrounds to the dock. I Downloaded, unzipped, and placed in the background folder. It is not showing up at all anywhere. PLEASE HELP

What I have found is that if I have ObjectDock configuration open when I download and install a new background that I need to close configuration and then reopen it to see the new backgrounds.  You might give that a try.  :sun:

Well, someone's bound to get to the root of the problem. After downloading and unzipping to the proper destination folders (the ones that installed with the program), try closing and reopening OD2+.

If the downloaded skin does not appear in your configuration window, open a ticket at [email protected].

Exactly what folder are you putting your backgrounds in?

The problem relies on old themes and their corresponding INI file.

I recently had to fix the ini of the "Simple rounded" theme (the coolest one IMO) to be able to make it show on the styles menu.

Open the ini from a default OD2 skin and open the ini of the old skin then place them side to side, and try to carefully make them match together while retaining the values on the old one.

Here's the Simple rounded theme just in case you want to try.

Extract the folders according to the structure I've put on the zip, probably is different in your system but there you go.

Cheers!

Destination folder is backgrounds. C:\Documents and Settings\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Backgrounds. There is also a separate folder for running indicators if you have them. The folder should be closed when you unzip to it. If its open you'll need to close it then reopen it and your skins will show up. Hope this helps.

Not really, when you close the styles window and click on it again you see the changes reflected, you don't really need to close OD's options (as I initially thought)

For tabbed docks you need to close the OD Options when you make any changes. For the side docks/zoomers "most" of the time you can leave it open...but there have been times when I had to close it or it would let me make changes.
