I was playing this game a year ago at my brothers house and i loved it.. Im getting a new computer in a month and i REALLY want to buy this game but im not going to if people arent still playing. How many active players are there? Is it easy to find games still?
It only takes about 1.5 hours to play a 4v4 or 5v5 on the Sins Diplomacy expansion. Most of the action is on the Diplomacy expansion and you won't find too many people playing PvP games on regular Sins or Entrenchment. However, while there are normally a couple 4v4s and 5v5s each day, overall the player counts are disappointingly low and you'll spend a lot of time waiting for enough people to play.
It's a great game, but it's hard to recommend it to someone who wants to play it PvP in online multiplayer because of the low player counts today. So, purchase it at your own risk.
With what you said, I think a recommended course of action would be to coordinate multiplayer gameplay with friends.
