Anti Virus and DesktopX Gadgets
False Positives
Hey guys, does anyone else out there have problems with their anti virus flagging DesktopX gadgets as malware?
Stardock, is there anything we can do about this?
It's getting very annoying....

Yeah, I use Norton 360 and it does it all time, just have to tell it to ignore and let it process. Or I could turn it off whille I download the gadgets.
Any suggestions?
I have only had one problem and it was not with a dx gadget. My avast flagged adni18 Hyalo 2xWeather II but that is the only problem I have experience with avast. I am trying Microsoft Security Essentials now and have not had a problem with it. I may go back to avast because I seem to be having issues with sending zip files as email attachments with MSE.
So the answer is no I have not experienced any problems with DesktopX using Avast or MSE.
No problems here. Using AVG and it hasn't flagged any DX download I've gotten.
86 Norton and go with AVG.
I have problems with Norton and DesktopX from time to time as well. No suggestions, Jim. I'm sticking with Norton anyway; it's my favourite still after trying others.
All I'm saying is that with Norton there are too many problems. I had it on my old machine and again on my laptop. Both times it screwed around with not just DX downloads but with others as well. I've not had a single problem with AVG. I wish I had a better suggestion for you RnD.
That's the problem with heuristic-based scanning. I can verify that this is a false positive.
Thanks Dewie. I can also vouch that it's a false positive. I don't make malware...lol!!
PDJ's the DX Master. He doesn't know how to make malware stuff. I am right ... right? ![]()
