I'm pretty sure this is the problem with it.
Whenever i try to use a mod in the game it suddenly freezes, some minidump thing comes up and the game stops working and has to be closed
I'm sure the problem is that the enablemods text file is missing from the mods folder so how can i fix this?
Should be auto created if the mod was enabled properly.
The mod is a folder that goes inside the specific game expansion folder.

What version of what expansion are you trying to install what version of what mod?
It's just the normal version, none of the expansions though im thinking of getting entrenchment
by the way is entrenchment downloaded from this site or shipped to you?

ONLY entrenchment AND diplomacy use and have the enablemods.txt in the mods-expansion v#.## folder, and regarding the minidumping, IS the mod FOR vanilla sins, if the mod(s) are for entrenchment/diplomacy then that IS the cause of the minidumps as the modding structure changed RADICALLY with entrenchment and diplomacy continued with the same modding structure.
regarding the entrenchment question, it is able to be purchased from the stardock shop and downloaded through impulse, or you could go into a local computer games shop and ask for 'sins of a solar empire trinity' which has vanilla, entrenchment AND diplomacy, then you can update with impulse to the current versions.
