UNits having 300 hps?
Does the hp of enemy units go up with difficulty level? I dont understand how some enemy units have like 300 hp and only 3 units, when my guys have like 30 hp and 4 units. Seems really odd, dont quite understand.

I've noticed this as well ever since 1.08 (possibly one of the hotfixes, didn't play in between). I assume it's to give the AI a chance against human opponents and reduce the "first round death of everything" problem. I can't say how connected it is to difficulty because I have only played ridiculous since 1.07.
I'm kind of on the fence about whether this is a good thing or a bad thing. On the one hand it seems like kind of a half-assed fix, but then I didn't care much for combat where the enemy didn't get a chance to move because I killed them all. At least now it takes more than 2 stone giants with 12+ mana (multiple temple of essence) each to slaughter an entire army, 30hp units (regardless of defense) are just too easy for a human player to kill. Short term I think it's better than the way it was and waiting on 1.1 before passing long term judgment on anything really.
Experience levels.
Experienced/veteran units not only have more HP then regulars when you create them, they also gain more HP on level-up. The difference will be multiplied by the number of levels the unit has, and then again multiplied by the number of figures in the unit. I can imagine with high enough level, original experience at creation and figures in squad 300 HP would be reachable. However normally i see them in the 120-150 range.
[EDIT] it also heavily depends on the base HP of the figure. A darkling warrior has 15 base hp(instead of the normal 5 of regular unit), so a squad of veteran warriors who are level 5 would have very high hitpoints.

The part in red, I have seen enemy units with 8k hp.
I've seen a single monster with 1200 hp that was spawned by an enemy AI. Typically, I make a point of winning the game before it goes too far, like before turn 300, otherwise the AIs seem to be able to get very stong units. I usually win the game before all the techs are unlocked, in fact there are some techs I haven't even seen yet.
