Today I had the chance to listen to Handel's Messiah. It's one of my favorite pieces of music to listen too, especially at Christmas. (I love all of Handel's music) It's such an intense score, with such a powerful message behind it. If you are not big on Classical music, you may want to listen to this live....the feeling when the orchestra begins and then the voices are added is amazing.
The coolest part was that Lady Cleve had a jaw dropping solo. I do have to say she was one of the better soloists. I was amazed when I heard her sing. It's not that I didn't think she could...I was sure that she would do a great job when I heard she got the part. But I didn't expect to hear such a powerful voice from such a mild mannered person! I suppose Ive never known anyone who really possessed a talent like that. I was impressed by not just how beautiful her voice was but her presence as well. She looked so confident and even sounded much taller than she really is!
So if you ever have a chance to see her sing in person...I highly recommend that you do. It's a wonderful experience.
And on another note. I met her SO: SPC Nobody Special. Seems like a really nice guy. He sang too! So congrats to both of them on a job well done!
