ModTool 7.5 and Vista

I'm sorry if this is answered somewhere else, but I couldn't find it.  I've had a myriad of problems with autodesk modtool.  At first it would crash and startup, but I've resolved that by changing a line from "view manager" to "explorer"  However now I can't see anything?  Is there anyone else who has 32xVista and could help me out?  Thanks

When the mod tool loads, it will say not responding until it finishes loading. Did it actually get to finish loading?

it finishes loading, and even appears to run, but I can't see anything through any of the views.  I don't think it is a video card issue

Sorry bout that, I don't think I can help you there other than to try an re-download and re-install. You also might be missing a simple step in the set-up. I found these very useful.

Download the Artist’s Guide to Softimage with 8 hours of video training lessons. These lessons do assume the user has some experience with modeling. (exe - 1.72Gb) Softimage® autodesk.download.com

I dont think so. I always had problems with XSI (both retail, and mod tool) with Vista. Similar to what you are going through except mine was 64 bit. It wouldnt install right, and when it finally did install right the viewports would disappear after working with it for a while. It is strange because the exact same version i have installs, and works just fine in XP, and Windows 7. Sorry you are having trouble. Blame it on Vista.

Are you running the program as Administrator? I haven't experienced your problem, but SoftImage doesn't function properly unless you run it as administrator.

Edit; Yes I believe Major Stress is correct, Vista problem.
