Natural Desktop 1.1 released

http://www.naturaldesktop.com

Natural Desktop is a cool new program that looks at your local weather conditions, time of day and time of year and based on that sets your wallpaper, portal animation, and can optionally play a natural sounding environmental sound track.  The wallpapers was created by Digital Blasphemy. The weather portal created by Tiggz, and the sound track from famed composer Mason Fischer.  The result is just phenomenal, a must-have for anyone who is stuck in front of a computer all day.

Version 1.1 adds a bunch of customization options such as being able to select your own background sounds, wallpapers, locations, as well as control what the whether conditions (Example: Today I set it to play the raining/thunderstorm sound which can be quite relaxing).

Version 1.1 is free for those who have already purchased it (use Stardock Central to get 1.1 if you have 1.0).  It also has some additional performance tweaking and performance options available.

I purchased version 1.0 several weeks ago and installed it on my pc. It is great. However, Stardock Central shows only a 9/14/04 updated version 1.0 as being available. Has the cart gotten before the horse?

I agree, Stardock Central only shows the 1.0 version. Beyond that though picking on that 1.0 version merley leads to the website page and not to actually download the 1.0 version. It actually wants you to purchase it again. Can this be fixed?

You have to put in your serial # first into Stardock Central. Go to tools "register products". And put in your serial # that you received when you purchased it.

To Mav Phoenix and johna10093 - don't worry about the video demo. If you're at all interested just buy it. It's fantastic. To Frogboy - does the installation automatically detect your screen resolution and install the 1600x1200 wallpapers, or do I have to do that manually? I must say, it looks as though it's done it automatically, because it looks pretty darn impressive!

My desktop has an animated GIF of it if that helps. Doesn't show the extra control panel functions are have sound of course (wasn't meant for that) but it may be of interest.

Just imagine it 1000x smoother.

To Bobcatt. I did as Frogboy said and as soon as I entered my serial number in SD and checked ok the latest version appeared in SD. I then installed it with no problems.

To clarify the registration process:

1) In the Misc section in SDC click on The Natural Desktop to select it.
2) Right click and select Register Products.
3) From the "Product" dropdown, select "Natural Desktop"
4) Enter your serial and click "Register"
5) Once you get a dialog saying "Natural Desktop has been successfully registered ..." click "OK" to click that dialog, and then click "OK" on the Stardock Central Settings dialog.
6) The list of applications in the "Misc" section should refresh.
7) Version 1.1 should show as "Available" and you should be able to select that and click "Update"

If for any reason this isn't shown then try restarting Stardock Central. Check in the registration list that your registration number is still in there.
