More sections on WinCustomize?

More sections on WinCustomize?

One of our long policies has been that WinCustomize.com won't add sections for up and coming sections but instead add sections that had already done the leg work themselves to make their program popular.

Are there any programs you wish we had a section for that's become quite popular on its own that we don't have? Or do you feel we have enough sections already for skins? Let us know.

I agree with several others - Firefox, Thunderbird, Mozilla... In that order... The only possible "issues" with this are that the skin formats change frequently, so version compatibility is an issue..

Re: Yahoo 6. Windowblinds can Skin YMsgr 6.0 - you just have to turn off skinning in Ymsgr itself.
Re: Palm - while it would be nice to have skins, I didn't think the Palm was skinnable? All I'm aware of are color schemes.

Trillian. Everything else is secondary.

Samurize definetly... I don't use trillian but it seems popular enough... same with mozila... but definetly samurize, their library is lacking and our community would add a lot to it

Desktop Sidebar (www.desktopsidebar.com) -

one of the best desktop apps I've found recently and it has great support for skinning and plug-ins.

Trillian -

There are LOTS of GREAT Trillian skins, but they're only to be found on the Trillian user forums, for the most part. It would be great to have a better organized place to find them.

Xfire, now that it has gone gold. Being a gaming creator yourselves this would be a no-brainer

How about an universal freeform skins - a section for skinners wanting to build WMP skins but currently lacking the knowledge? They can be turned into WMP skins with SkinStudio easily but they have one big advantage - they can be tweaked to one's own preferences easily (using SKS).
Mind me... I'm biased

Arghh. Trillion when 3 is released..the browser sections recommended ? .. mixed feelings.. WindowBlinds does ok with my "MyIE2".. Kewlpad and Quicknotes are out of favor... but no simple replacement programs are available. I still run QuickNotes: The need here is for a new small simple skinnable program to fill that desktop quick reference text gap. Make one in house and tuck it into Object Desktop

Firefox/Mozilla/Thunderbird Would be great. I also think dividing the Object Dock section into would be great.

the key words of frogboys were 'skins that have already done the legwork'.. i can agree with object dock, but firefox, mozilla? as someone pointed out not many skins exist. regardless of whether there is something out htere better than trillian, the fact is it exists, it is VERY popular, and has TONS of skins.

I used to run Desktop Sidebar before problems came up. I submitted all its extensions to filext.com, and DSPackage made it into TrID.
Netscape and Mozilla themes are one thing. I can see why Samurize. Didn't WC report that samurize.com fell down in server migration? Yes.
I also agree on Trillian, the OD seperation, and Steam Skins, and Xfire. That would greatly increase skin production and site revenue.

I'd like to see a Trillian section and a better breakdown of ObjectDock as well (Icons/Docklets/Backgrounds).

Sticking my neck out - Incredimail? While there is a skinning tool not many good skins are available.
Unlike say, Outlook Express, Incredimail does not allow the use of the default WindowsBlinds skin.
Bummer! Sending this to Incredimail LTD too.

for those of us still taking the crap route for internet ....... Windowblinds skins don't seem to force over MSN explorer.

so if someone knows hwo to skin that p.o.s. webbrowser, that would be fantastic to see. (or if you know how to change it somehow, i'd liek to know)

Brian Mosier: as far as I'm aware, you don't HAVE to use MSN Explorer, just open Internet Explorer instead.

compromise.. there is already an internet explorer skin section which is pretty outdated. make that a 'browsers' skin area. our sections already have the ability to break down into cats. think also about programs that arn't supported on other sites. yes trill is on DA.. but what about samurize? winstep? WC could keep a uniqueness by supplying sections for programs that arn't featured often around the rest of the web.
