ObjectDock & ObjectDock Plus 1.04 arrive!

http://www.objectdock.com

ObjectDock is freeware program that is a program launcher and taskbar that does it all with style!

Throw into the mix ObjectDock Plus, which is only $19.95, and you can really turbo-charge your Windows desktop.  It adds tabs, taskbar grouping, system tray (with each item fully skinnable), multiple docks, multiple monitor support, elegant edge hugging, and tons of other cool features!

What's new in 1.04?

ObjectDock Plus supports multiple docks on the desktop of different styles (tabbed and untabbed)

Tabbed docks can have the system tray in them. Hold down the left mouse button on a system tray item and you can change its image.

Taskbar items can be grouped together like the default Windows taskbar.

Docks can be moved to the edge and then docked where only the tabs show until the mouse goes over them. The size of tabs and docks are controlled from the easy to use configuration dialog.

Example of having multiple tabbed docks with just the tabs showing.

Docks can be set up so that they're always on top (such as where the tabs show up on top of windows) or behave like normal windows that show up on top when you move your mouse to a specific position.

The tabs and dock backgrounds are skinnable. Use the ones in there or download more made by others. Change the color to any color you choose.

Organize your work as you like.

ObjectDock Plus supports Stardock fly-out menus (you have to see it in action to appreciate how cool this is). A great way to zip through graphic files drives, etc.

Manage your various docks through the ObjectDock Plus system tray item. Very straight forward to create and modify

I'm interested in this program, but I would also like to try before I buy. How does this program perform...resource wise I mean?

hi there,

i did purchase the program and i use it on my laptop, it runs very well not to mention it is a very nice looking program, and makes things that i use on a daily basis ver convient

It uses about the same amount of resources as ObjectDock does which is a free download. There may eventually be a "trial" version of ObjectDock Plus but not for quite awhile. ObjectDock (the freeware one) is enough to know how well the plus version will work and the features in the Plus version are pretty easy to describe.

Ok, thanks Frogboy & Marianne! I was under the impression that the program would use a lot more resources than the free download verion...mainly because of all the cool features that it is capable of. I'm very tempted to give it a try now.

> I just updated to the latest version of ObjectDock and now it doesn't work. Says it's not registerd properly and I have to contact Stardock for my serial number. But it's FREEware!??

Same problem as SchlGrl27...

It errors out as follows...

ObjectDock - Cannot start, please reinstall

ObjectDock is not registered correctly. Please Reinstall.

This is the freeware version btw - I updated through Stardock Central, and now my dock is dead.

Is there anyway to put in default support for a proxy server, so the docklets which require access to the net can get out of our network?

Just downloaded the updated freeware...works great except for one thing. You can't change the font anymore. Is there a way to do that?

EDIT: Figured it out myself. Nevermind

I really like this program and bought it when it was first released in beta form. There is one thing though, that drives me crazy. The font in the user interface for section/attribute titles is to big and is cut off. It has been that way since the first relase of plus. Other than that, I use it every day extensively and it rocks!!! Especially like the tabs

Still need to get the systray part to recognize everything. I still have to exit and restart both Component Tray and WB to get their icons to show up.

I agree about the fonts and colors. Why can't we change the fonts and colors and drop shadows as a option in everything? Since, it's bascially not limited to the windows operating system. More optons please. Great program though.

Bought the first version in beta - love it since back then
Thanx Stardock
Everything performs great except the flyoutmenu - it pops up slowly (P4/Radeon9700pro)

I had the same problems that several of you had. I uninstalled the program. Then re-installed it using Stardock Central. Re-entered licence code, and it was up and running. Lost all settings but at least it runs properly.

My major gripe with OD+ is with Flyout menus and the Start Menu docklet. Neither of them expose the context menus that Windows has, so for example I can't navigate to a folder or file using a Flyout and right-click to, say, Add To Zip. Anyone knows if this is a planned feature?

Alot of updates for that program, guess il wait a while entil they decide its near Final.

There is a bug still present in ObjectDock Plus 1.04. URL to an image for an item on the tab/dock bar has been fixed. There is still another side to the URL problem. If you set an image for a program or set an image for a class using a URL that points to a PNG or ICO (located somewhere else other than in the C: Drive), it only works for the particular program instance. If you close the instance of the program/application and restart it, the image setting is lost. However if you point to a PNG or ICO in the ObjectDock dir, the setting persists.

Hope a fix comes soon.

I updated from 1.02f[rc].002 to 1.04.002 and every time I startup SDC it tells me that I need to update to 1.04.002 again. This is getting kind of annoying. I've done everything short of just uninstalling OD+ with no success. The update is just not taking. I even downloaded the "final" version from the website, closed OD+, then installed the new version, rebooted... nothing.

Right-clicking on a non-tabbed dock shows the About dialog and identifies OD+ as 1.04 Plus, Build 468. But right-clicking on a tabbed dock does not show the About dialog, and SDC still thinks that I have 1.02f[rc].002 installed. It's as if only half of OD+ was updated. Is there supposed to be an About dialog in the tabbed docks? Can anyone tell me what's going on? THANKS.

UPDATE: I guess I updated too quickly. Within an hour there was a new release, which I installed through Stardock Central. It no longer asks me to register.

We may be putting up a new build in the next few days that detects full screen games. That way it won't activate while you're playing DOOM 3 or The Political Machine or whatever.

Patri, are you running as an admin user? It's like the registry isn't being updated with the version information after the update, which makes it think there still is an update to be had.
