http://www.v-com.com/product/PowerDesk_Pro_New_Features.html
PowerDesk 6 is the "luxury edition" of a Windows file manager. It includes lots of new features including:

* PowerDesk Pro doubles its already strong file compression handling from 16 formats to 32.

* Improved Sync manager.

* Configuration Export/Import, a feature that allows you to save your entire configuration in one file.

* Improved thumbnails, File Finder and more!

(And did I mention that its skinnable?)

YEA!!!! I've been using Power Desk Pro for years. Now it blends perfectly with WB. I feel as if Christmas came early. Thanks V-Com and Stardock

PD Pro 5 was getting long in the tooth......was a long time between drinks, but PD Pro 6 continues the tradition of a great Explorer alternative....

Little known fact: Stardock and VCommunications were largely OS/2 ISVs at their starts.

And I just paid for a license for ExplorerPlus 6.2 yesterday! The good news for me is that having looked over the new stuff in PD6, I still think the EX+ interface is more user-friendly. If you "Standard Colors" from the skin menu in EX+, then it skins every bit as well as the screenshots of PD6. I think that EX+ has just a bit more functionality than PD6. But that difference is minimal and I have to remind anyone reading this that I have used EX+ but have not used PD6. My opinion is based on all the info that I could find at the V-COM site.

But I do have to give two thumbs-up to V-COM for not letting this excellent tool (PD5) wither and die.

Just curious, what exactly does "Direct Skin" add if you are a WB user ?
To mee it looks pretty much like a regular WB skin applied to a normal application, but I have only looked at the screenshots. But does DS make any other changes apart from the skinning that WB does ?

MickeM...you do not actually 'need' Windowblinds [the proggy] to skin PD6......you buy the proggy and it comes with its 'skinnability' 'built-in' via 'Direct Skin'....

Also,adding DirectSkin allows developers to "hard-code" a particular skin, so that their application always uses that particular skin. That is optional on the part of the developer, so that they choose to always use one skin, allow users to from a library of skins, or use the system skin.

Had been using Power Desk for years then switched to Opus about a year ago.. much more expensive but a lot more funtionality and takes me back to my Amiga days lol. Good news for Power Desk users. I would definately check this out if I wasn't so happy with Opus. Glad to see they finally updated a really nice application
