I've been using this app for a couple of years (it's been in development for a while). Once you start using it, you never revert back to windows explorer (dual pane is amazing to use).

The only bad thing about it skinng related is its inability to skin folder icons. Every file icons are skinned properly but unlike windows explorer, the folder icons remain generic, no matter what IP theme you apply.

Frogboy, is there anything that can be done about this?

I don't think there's anything Stardock can do unless the 2Xplorer developers allow it to use system icons. Servant Salamander does allow this, although in a much more Norton Commander-ish interface http://www.altap.cz

not affiliated, just a happy user.

Salvador,

I agree that Servant Salamander is fantastic (I think I found it after a post you made in an SD newsgroup - thanks), but it shows only generic directory icons for me, not the icons set by IconPackager. Any thoughts on how to get the IP icons (I'm using 2.5 B5a, but 2.0 does the same)?

Salvador: xplorer² does use the system icons. how do i know that? simple: i don´t use IconPackager, but directly replaced the folder icons in system32.dll. xplorer² uses the icons in my system32.dll, so the error must be at IconPackager.

happy xplorer² and 2xExplorer user since years
