LogonStudioXP

my login user name font never changes if I customise it, plus are non xp fonts ever included in exported skins?

some minor issues/questions!

1 - using logonstudioxp, the user name, eg "Scott" that shows up in a newly created logonstudioxp skin, never shows in a different font- if I change it and save it. whats likely to be the problem? I have tried smaller font sizes (sometimes too large a font is the cause for any changes not to show in the final saved skin), but it still doesnt change. Is there anything else that might be causing my font not to change?

2 - can fonts be included in exported skin files? If I save my logonstudioxp created skin to show on someone elses computer, I suppose this would be a questionable thing (ive noticed some some fonts are not free on some websites). I just wondered if there was a way, as I was sure that stylexp logon screens could include custom fonts, even if they were not in xp originally, or some logonstudioxp websites that offered free skins may have too. I might be wrong.. (I usually am, lol).

3 - ive noticed that the preview in logonstudioxp doesnt always show my logon screen in the exact same way as I will in the finished file. eg- there might be some slight differences to how much of an image I will see (usually the top and bottom is cut off slightly, even if my image is the correct ratio). Is this just a minor issue in the old xp version?

4 - will there be an update to the new free logonstudio (the one compatible with all xp/vista/7) that will eventually include all the customisation options of logonstudioxp, or will the program be sticking to the ability to add wallpapers?

thanks for any help

1. I have never been able to make it change, may be MS hard coded, but has setting hoping they could work around before logonstudioXP development end in I think it was 2007.

2. As long as the font can be distributed.

3. Preview is just to give a basic idea, it is not exact.

4. I doubt it, Vista and 7 logons are basically locked by MS so images can't be changed.

thanks. thats unfortunate if the new version of logonstudio cant ever have the editing features of the original, being able to create my own logon screen was its main feature for me. Im guessing that might be due to ms trying to add extra protection to their logon system, since thats what enables access to windows in the first place. the latest logonstudio that runs on vista and 7 does work perfectly fine in xp sp3, although I wonder if future versions will too-hopefully by then I will have upgraded from xp, haha-but judging by the windows 7 compatibility lists, if I do get it anytime soon I may well be adding an xp partition to my hard drive anyway.

If I do use a free distributable font, is there any way that the single logonstudioxp exported file could include the font within the style itself- or will it always be a case of having to tell the user in a readme to install the font first, then apply the logon style using the program?

Is it possible to run a single logonstudioxp file, which could automatically install a necessary font and then apply the logon, or would that be only for those that can create executables (perhaps too technical for me!)..?

with changing user font, i think youre right, t must have been working on or before 2007.

as for how accurate the preview was, I thought it was a bug at first :) thanks for the info
