Do you have the Aero Glass theme running?  Also is that Home basic or Home Premium?

I am impressed with the wallpaper recoloring...it depends a lot on the quality of the wall...overly compressed or images with lots of smooth gradients dont look so good.((edit))...I should have said...images with lots of NOT so smooth gradients.

Funny thing...I was just wondering how hard it would be to make my 1 Knot Vista wall match the 17 substyles the windowblind  has now so I opened up the wall (the jpg) in PS and just did a simple replace color and it did no better than Deskscapes.

Some images Deskscapes is going to recolor just fine. :D

Heres my brilliant idea for giving Neil some more work to do...heheh...what if...WBconfig had a checkbox for...

Apply current WB color preset to current wallpaper.    hmmmm?... :-" :)

Yes the recolouring does depend on the wallpaper in use.  The recolouring probably works well for 90-95% of wallpapers out there.  On the others the results can be poor, though you can always use the recolour entire image option from the drop down which works on everything.

It is important to pick the right colour from the drop down as sometimes it may list two colours which look almost the same but one produces much better results than the other.

In my case it was not that it picked the wrong colour or did a bad job...it was the wall...it looked fine in its original state...but recoloring exposed how badly it was compressed.(it went all blotchy and blocky)

Not Deskscapes fault.Photoshop couldnt do it either.

So Neil...what about my WB config idea...hmmmmmmm? *_*

Effects still do not work with Photodream and Dreams like them.  Otherwise this is great stuff!

Effects work on ALL dreams and always have done.

Au contraire, my fine amigo, I have tested this on Vista 32 on a one monitor system (nvidia graphics) and Windows 7 x64 with 3 monitors (nvidia graphics) and while the preview shows an effect working on Photodream, hitting Apply causes the monitor to refresh one image every X seconds, smearing the background, and losing the background image, etc.  Then it kills all the dreams (on the multiple monitors) etc.

BUT, for you, sir, I just did a test on an ATI radeon equipped Windows 7 x64 and it worked!!!  So methinks this is an nvidia to Photodream/dynamic dreams issue.

Note that video dreams with effects work fine on all platforms I have tested.

Hey amigo!  After much trial and error, I have narrowed the bug down for ya.  8)

In the latest Deskscapes rev, the problem ONLY occurs in the Photodream dream when "Move picture in three dimensions" is Enabled and only on Nvidia graphics cards.  It just so happens that this is my default hardware/dream configuration for every monitor I own, haha.

The background refresh/redraw disappears entirely (it is not drawn or redrawn) and the animated picture moves for about one second, leaving a trail artifact behind, before it just freezes.

This does not happen if any of these conditions are not met.

I hope that helps you narrow it down to a specific line of code.
