Custom race question.

I created a custom race, but have found a problem, the character that comes up when you research something etc etc  wont change, its currently a creepy robot chick..thing, and it totally doesn't fit my race theme. I tried changing a few things, like emblems, colors, even created some new races, but they all end up with that robot. Is that standard for custom races or does something effect what character you get? I know its not game breaking, but its annoying as hell.

The robot is determined by your alignment, not by the race you play.

Ah ok, how do I go about changing my alignment? I can't find the option for the life of me. v_v

Research Xeno Ethics. When completed a screen will pop up asking which alignment you choose.

Up until then you are only leaning towards a particular alignment, based upon which choices you make with the ethical questions.

It's this tag:

        <Alignment>99</Alignment>

in your raceconfig. 0=evil; 50=neutral, 100=good.

In DA/TA you can change that in the Editors-screen in game as well.

Yes, that tag will change your starting point. However you are not committed to a particular alignment until you research Xeno Ethics and choose which one you will be.

Actually, you can go into the raceconfig.xml and locate the "custom race", then change the <RobotMovie> value from NewsRobot_Alien to NewsRobot_Human to get a completely different set of robots that also changes with your alignment.

There is no RobotMovie tag in my RaceConfig.xml file, but I do see both movies in the Movies folder.

I guess I'll try adding the tag and see what happens. (I'm playing DL, by the way)

Ok, after playing two full games, one as good, then one as bad, the robot never changed. Even after researching Xeno Ethics. I'm playing Galactic Civilizations ultimate edition. No matter what I do, I'm stuck with that robot chick.
