Planets, ships, and buildings invisible or transparent.

Summary;

Whenever I load up either Entrenchment, or Diplomacy the planets are transparent, and the ships and buildings are invisible.  I can only see the exhaust trails.  In regular SINS I can see everything just fine.

Tried Solutions;

 I've tried different NVIDIA drivers, and yes I've tried the latest drivers.  I've tried changing the graphics to the lowest, and turned off all the effects.

System Information; (The NVIDIA drivers are an old version, and again I've tried the latest)

99.9% of that was unneeded

try reloading the game, sometimes this happens with a bad download

It sounds to me like an installation problem. If the original sins works, I don't think its the comp. A little info on how you installed would be better than the longest spec sheet I have ever seen. You might have the expansions in the wrong location.

You can download from impulse and re-install and confirm installation.

I did uninstall it and reinstall it from Impulse.  I'll give it another shot, and see what happens.

We have had this problem in mods recently when they changed the way that some of the pipeline effects files were changed. I would guess that these files somehow didn't get overwritten when you updated the game.

I uninstalled, and reinstalled everything (reg sins, entrenchment, and diplomacy).  I checked and the expansion folders are located inside the main Sins folder.

Oh, and sorry for the OP huge system info thing...

did u confirm install with impulse?

Reply #7 Top

Yes, I did.  Though after this latest install something strange happens.  When I confirm the regular SOSE it says that an update is available.  Then I confirm Entrenchment, which it says is fine, and then Diplomacy which it says needs an update.  I complete that update for Diplomacy, but if I confirm regular SOSE it says it needs an update again and then I can repeat this process infinitely.

A couple things.  After uninstalling I deleted all folders related to SOSE.  Now, it use to work prior to me upgrading from Vista to Win 7, however, you'd think a clean install would take care of the problem.

Oh well, if you hear of any ideas let me know please.  If I find a solution I will post it here.

If nothing else I can just wait until SOSE2 assuming they are actually working on it...
