JoeUser.com gets a face lift

JoeUser.com is a free blog site. You can create your own site there and write about whatever you'd like.

And, it uses Stardock.net accounts which means if you have an account here on WinCustomize.com you already have an account on JoeUser.com. Just type in your same logon info and you'll be logged on. From there, you can create your own blog which will have its own domain such as <myname>.joueser.com.

The old design was much better... unique, this one is just a ho-hum design that could be just any one of a thousand similar sites. I'm not saying it's a bad design, it's not, it's just not unique anymore.

Is there a way to choose between styles?

Not presently.  The old design was incredibly intensive which made the site much slower.  The new site is starting off slimmer and then will move up in "style" over time.

I'm on a 56k modem and the old site loaded at a fairly normal rate for me. I guess the intensive part must have been the serverside stuff it took to generate the site. Seen in this light, I can certainly understand why you went to the new design.

Are there any plans to recode the WinCustomize site efficiently? (which it needs badly)

Yep. WinCustomize is going to be completely redesigned this upcoming Spring. It'll have all kinds of cool new stuff built into it.


SKIN BLOGGING, Skin Syndication, Skin Groups, RSS on a per skinner basis, Author watch, better message boards.


And best of all, it'll be much much faster.
