ObjectDock 1.0 Release Candidate

ObjectDock 1.0 release candidate is now available for download at www.objectdock.com.

ObjectDock is a freeware program launcher / task manager that does its job with style. It's completely skinnable, can have tasks and programs be represented by .PNG files or icons, and has a host of special effects to make it look and feel like any kind of dock one might want to have on their system.

New in this release candidate:
  • Issue with icons temporarially disapparing and/or stopping updating (e.g. clocks) after changing screen resolutions or coming out of hibernation fixed
  • Settings are now saved whenever the config dialog is closed, rather than on exit only.
  • Mouse activation:
  • When in "normal z-order" mode, will bring to front when mouse moves into activation area and leave there until another window is activated
  • When in "bottom" mode, will bring to front when mouse moves into activation area, and will put the dock back on bottom when the dock leaves the dock's area.
  • Resizable Icon Chooser dialog (remembers its size as well)
  • Added text to clerify how to remove docklets
  • Updated Weather plugin to use Weather.com's feed, and added ability to switch to metric units.
  • Fix issue with folders as shortcuts not properly launching
  • Run-visibility option added for shortcuts (run minimized, maximized, etc)
  • Improved clock to have thicker hands
  • Option to add your own separators added
  • Fixed a large number of additional little glitches found from postings on the messageboards, thanks to tips from testers

How about the issue with auto Start-up??
Do you still have to add a shortcut to your start menu to have the program run on boot-up??

This created problems for me because the weather object would never load , due to other items were starting up at the same time.

Thanks..

The new weather docklet has a GDI object leakage problem similar to the one in the XML Weather docklet posted by Judge.

WOOOOOOOOOW!!! I am as well geting deeply dependant on Stardock who acctully converted my opinion about Windows being ugliest system out-there... And this version is the best one so far - stable as rock and the main thing in my opinion it DOESNT USE 70%+ of CPU power just to animate the icons. Now it went down to about 20% which is AMASING... Still havent went through everything yet but this was the first thing I have noticed and I had to post this... ANYONE INTERESTED DOWNLOAD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW!!!! Amasing!!!!

I downloaded it, and installed over my current copy and it works just wonderfully. Although none of the updates really affects things as I have them. The weather docklet is a little improved at least.

I think I need to get back on the designing board. I'm slacking. My OD skins were my biggest downloads.

Great to see a new version.
I would use this over Object Bar , but it does not
support a Pop-up Menu type of functionality - which I use
heavily.
Also need a systray capability -
Its very nice looking - cool effects - now if we can just 'merge' the two

I'm confused, this link appears to be froma previous version.0.95.I'm already running o.99a.for more than two months.Whats the scoop? In both ,the file version is the same 0.4455.0.0.

The same issue occurs from the previous version: When using the custom enging (since the other pegs the CPU) I get lines through some icons. Resizing larger or smaller creates lines in other icons while clearing up the others

I.R. Braniac..it's the correct version (update-wise)...just the file name is old. I was able to install over my current version.

Lovely to see a new release. It's just a shame that the rest of the world aren't worthy of a weather docklet that support other countries.
