iTunes: Who should make all that money

The Register has an article that outlines how Apple isn't netting any money from iTunes and the evils of copy protected music (DRM). Its suggestion is to put a tax on CDs or something to take care of piracy.

Since I won't get docked for "trolling" on here, here's what I have to say on the subject.

Taxes are truly the spice of life. If it weren't for taxes, I would have to get a job! So please, when you're paying taxes, think of people like me... people who suffer from chronic laziness syndrome. In other words, stop being selfish and give all your money to me!

(That basically sums up what I feel such people as the ones supporting taxes to feed their piracy addictions are saying)

Here in Ontario, (that's in Canada which is slightly North of the U.S. for you geographically challenged people), we pay a tax on all recordable media and have for a couple of years now. Supposed to go towards 'Artists' that suffer from people copying their already-owned music. I don't know if it goes to them or not, but the EVIL RIAA hasen't pursued any downloaders here yet. Most people have forgotten that it is there already, so maybe its a good idea.
