Server Changes

WinCustomize is now running on a new, more powerful server thousands of miles away from where WinCustomize has been running.

The site may look the same, but appearances are deceiving.  The data has been meticulously backed up and transferred in the background over the past several days.

That said, very likely there will be some problems in the next few days as we iron out things we missed. Stay tuned!

Semi related to the move... as it happened last week: I'm a level 3 and just a few days ago I could see the skins ratings (even tho I couldn't rate them, which is fine by me) but now, I can't see any ratings. Is it a change in policy for level 3 users or is it related to the move? Thx.

My skinbrowser hasn't worked for several days and now I can't download anything. May be related to the change or may not, but it's getting sort of irritating...

The skin browser and the integrated functions for the skin libraries in Stardock Central are both casualties at the moment. We're getting there though...

Thanks for the information, Nakor -- I'll be patient.

But I *do* wish that if the browser is down, they'd put up a notification about it so I wouldn't fret that it was some problem on my end.

aside from a couple "server down" screens in last few days, all has been quite good. Keep on keepin on, you guys are the best

Ok, I believe I have the skin libraries working again for Stardock Central and the WinCustomize Browser.  Just use the "Refresh Site Updates" option.

Well done, Pat (hope the tooth is doing better too!). Some (or all) may have to 'refresh skins database' in both SDC and WC Browser separately and then hit 'refresh site updates'. After update close whatever browser that you're using (close it while on the 'Skins and Themes' page) and then restart the Browser. If they're not showing the icons on re-open hit the 'refresh site updates' again. It takes a little playing around with, but they are there and it does work.

But (anyone), what's happened to the skin rating numbers? Not there, and not here (I've tested with 3 different browsers, so I am not so sure it's a problem on my end).

I m having some probleemos.........i have recently Purchased WC subscription and cross refernced my a/c but whenever i click on Subscriber Resources it reutrns with "Server Internal Error" Is it due 2 server migration or something on my end

I'm having problems with the libraries and am not able to view any uploaded files on any of the different programs listed under libraries. Is there a problem. I have the Object Desktop Network CD and also have Wincustomize account. It worked fine before the server move.

I am having a problem with the upload page. Every time I enter the information and hit submit I get a error page. Finally a screenshot made it and I never saw it again. I thought it got rejected but a few days later I checked my Yahoo e-mail and there was a notification that it was accepted and a link. I checked the link and there it was on a page all by itself in nowhere land. There were a few comments so I figured someone must be seeing it. I still could not see it in screenshots and ask a few others if they could see it and they said no. How could some see it and not others. I wrote a letter and just received an answer that nobody rated it but he gave it a 10 so it should appear. I am still not seeing it, and still can not upload without getting an error page. Is this a know problem with anyone else?
