Sneak Peek: Never Trust!

Never Trust.

What is it?

You know that dialog that asks you to install something and you have the
option of eitehr saying "Yes" or "No" or "Always Trust"?

Well, this new component seamlessly adds in "Never Trust".

It has a config screen to manage the sites you've told to never trust.

Very simple but very useful. See the "Never trust" over on the right?

Never Trust will be part of Object Desktop. If you don't have Object Desktop you can get it by going to http://www.objectdesktop.com

That's a feature that should have been included with Windows from day one!

Although I have OD, I think this might be a good standalone app, just to provide maximum coverage. I think lots of people would like this who may not care about customization.

Either way, excellent idea, and good work!

Whooo very nice idea! I can't wait for it!

That sounds like a very useful tool. I have always thought that this and a "No to all" (as in when copying files and being asked if you wish to replace the existing one) option should have been made available in Windows to begin with.

If ObjectDock wasn't already worth it, this alone would justify the cost! Brilliant.

Very helpful when you get those Gator popups.

Outstanding idea - I've actually wished for this before (specifically with regards to the ubiquitous Gator installers as you've pointed out here) - I'll definately install it when it comes out on OD

*sighs* Figures - right when my OD subscription's run out!

Oh well, there's always just keeping Gator and their ilk in my HOSTS file, too. ^.^

Very cool. But, just wondering though. Will there be a way to remove something from the "never trust" list?

paxx: of course... run the program again and the list of blocked sites will be displayed for you to manipulate

[ Heavenly Chorus ] Glory, glory hallelujah!

This is something that should ALWAYS have been in Windows (I agree with Aleatoric). Now I can get rid of BOTH the annoying gator windows AND those annoying comet cursor windows.

Nice for browsing Warez sites with the dialers they push on the unwary

Nice and usefull ... better if it will be multilanguage supported (specially to be sure there will be no incompatibilities with IE language support ...)

Well, I am certainly looking forward to this. A nice addition to any power-browser's arsenal. It will also probably free some bandwidth for us dial-up users for not having IE download the baddie in the first place. However, I use Mozilla Firebird, so this isn't a problem for me...But it WILL help countless other users. A fine new app for OD.

Before I get all that warm and fuzzy feeling, can you tell me the difference between that and a other third party software---such as ZoneAlarm Pro- which when configurated does the same thing doesn't it?

I have had Object desktop for quite a while now. This may be a dumb question but how do i turn this on so i get the extra button here.Is it a cretain app i use to configure it? or do i need to update a certain app to have it?

Any help would be appreciated.
