SkinStudio Pro to get icon creation features!

The current internal version of SkinStudio Pro not only will let you create Windows Media Player Skins, WindowBlinds skins, Universal Skin Formatted skins but now can create icons of every known Windows icon format.

It can handle both individual and batch processing of images created in .PNG, .TGA, .BMP and other formats and automatically transform them into icons of various sizes.

I tried this out last night on a .PNG file I downloaded from the ObjectDock library last night and it worked great.

SkinStudio comes in 3 forms: The free version which just creates WindowBlinds visual styles.  The enhanced version which is $19.95 that adds widget, colorizing, and skin importing into skin creation.  And the pro version which will have an introductory price of $29.95 and has Media Player skin support and icon creation.  SkinStudio (all forms) is part of Object Desktop: http://www.objectdesktop.com

This new version should be up on ODNT next week.

Windows Media Player skin support sounds interesting...another skin format that would be nice is Winamp3, even though it's been cancelled there's Winamp5 coming up which has support for both Winamp2 and Winamp3 skins. I found an alpha version via geeknewz.com and it works perfect (with the skins I mean). I'm not very interested in xml - I just wanna do the graphics - so a program that could write it for you would be great.

I could imagine some other even easier to do auto-skins in there like colorpad, ez-pop, beatnik and sysmetrix.

It's a useless feature unless is can convert from/to OSX .icns files.

When Creating Icon packages I like to offer Windows and Mac users my icons.

Since I own a PC and a G5 I also like to keep my systems looking quite similar and so far there is really no easy way to convert Win Icons to OSX.

scratch_pentagon, by the nature of how it works with icons - it automatically creates PNG images for every frame).
Sysmetrix, yes you can,
qrayg, i'll see what I can do. Where can I get Icons for the OSX? I don't supose you would know any docs on the format, would you?

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

OSX icons can easily be found on the web. My two favorite sits are IconFactory http://www.iconfactory.com and Xicons http://www.xicons.com . I convert them to windows using IconShop, which for some strange reason won't work on my laptop anymore but does function on the desktop.

Being able to convert from OSX to Windows would be a very nice thing.

Bsoft: You're funny. "pay for the free version". Now, that would make it not free, would it.
As Brad said, there are 3 versions:- Free version: makes WB skins only, and yes, it's free- Enhanced version, $20- Pro version, that will skin WMP and make icons, $30.
