Red Cross is Appealing For Emergency Donations

As a massive hurricane surges toward the East Coast, Red Cross is appealing for emergency donations.

All eyes are on the path of Hurricane Isabel. Who knows how destructive and expensive this storm will be?

The Red Cross is mobilizing staff and lifesaving relief — food, water, shelter, and other aid, but our Disaster Relief Fund is empty.

Donations have been down sharply based on various factors including the rough economy. From July 1, 2002, to June 30, 2003, the Red Cross spent $114.3 million but took in only $39.5 million.

We need your help now, more than ever. We are committed to meeting this challenge to help people in need for this and thousands of disasters all across the country every year.

Please make a gift today to help replenish the Disaster Relief Fund.

American Red Cross
Together, we can save a life.

p.s. The American Red Cross is not a government agency, so we must rely on generous donations from the American public to help us help others.

Thank you, Pat, for posting this. I will try to donate blood this weekend and also make a donation.
Good that you reminded us all.
