Minor command/control question

Ok, so here is a little bit of a question about units and there special abilities. So if I want to take a group of the same ships (lets say 6 TEC scouts) and I want to get the mall to use the time bomb ability on the same target how can I do it? I've tried selecting the whole group but when I click the ability only one of them does it, and that's very annoying. If i have large groups of ships that I all want to target the same thing I don't have time to select them one at a time. Any one got ideas? Thanks!

With capital ships, you can just press tab to cycle through them, but for ordinary frigates your only approach is to select each on individually.  Definitely annoying, but fortunately the TEC scout's timed explosives is the only serious offender in the game.

I'm pretty sure it works that way for all of the ships when you select them as a group--only one activates the ability.  Select them as a group and then cycle/subcycle through each one, activating the ability for each ship one by one as you cycle through them.
