WinCustomize 2010 Subscription Changes

With the launch of WinCustomize 2010 we have also made changes to the subscription plans, mostly dealing with the cost of becoming a subscriber and renewing as one.

Previously, $29.95 was the price for both a subscription and renewal per year.

Now the cost of a 1 year subscription to WinCustomize costs just $19.95.  When the time comes to renew, it will be just a low price of $9.95.

What does a subscription get you?

  • No download limits – Download as many skins as you like with no limits or warning messages.
  • 20% Master Skin discount – The Master skinners on WC have been churning out plenty of skins, and as a subscriber you will get 20% off the price of a skin.
  • Ad-free browsing – Browse the site without seeing tons of adds.
  • Site functionality – Customize the Explore menu to your liking, rate skins, and more.

What has changed?

We are no longer offering premium skins as a perk of subscribing.  However, this does not mean we will not provide premium skins, we have plans for more, but they will not be a promised part of a subscription from this point on.

One question.....

Those of us who have paid $29.95 per year, in advance for a couple years, do we get anything in return for the loss of premium skins? As in maybe a year tacked on?

Seems we should get something since we paid a premium fee to get the free premium skins. Or just because we paid $10.00 more than the new price.

Just asking.

RedneckDude does have a point, all though since my current subscription runs out in October I will be renewing the first of May for a couple of years to get it in line with my Object Desktop subscription.  :sun:

So I renewed my sub in Feb. for $29.95 and now it's reduced to $9.95? That hardly seems fair.

Shouldn't I/we get an additional year tacked on as was done with the ODNT subs. I feel like I just threw 20 bucks out the window. :S

Existing subscribers should have a year added to their subs, and premium skins that are needed to fulfill.

And I hate to bring it up once again, but if this keeps happening (ADS!!!), even while I'm logged in, which I am, subs should be free.

I haven't seen ads in quite some time with IE8.  When they have shown up usually login out and cleaning browser cookies and history fixes the problem for me.  I know it hasn't for some folks.

Any issues please post them to the WC bug forum where we can track them.

Sorry, Spencer. I'll post it there.

That's awesome news,  I wasn't going to renew my subs this year but now I'm definitely going to!

Good move guys!

Only a year? It should be a year for each year remaining on your sub.

I've come to the conclusion that supporting the site is a good thing so I'm happy to see the subscription rate reduced.

MichaelG04 - Today is Saturday ..... Stardock is closed for the weekend .... asking twice on a day that the only people that can answer your question are not working is not 'priceless'.

Have a bit of patience.

So, does this extension apply to everyone with a current subscription? Mine runs out soon... <_<

I thought it was a bad idea to promise that anyway. It is hard to meet deadlines like that unless you have a fully dedicated staff for such purpose. I think a lot of time goes towards developing those games anyway? In any case not a problem for me but I know Stardock will make it right for those that coughed up the higher bucks!
