Outlook Express Future gets murkier

The Register has an update on the future of Microsoft's Outlook Express. Last week it was reported that Microsoft was not going to update it. There's been an update to this worth reading..

I have always wondered about Outlook Express. Why have a seperate program from the main Outlook itself? I first thought that it was a way for M$ to have a versoin of Outlook on all its OS's without being accussed of monopolizing the mail retrival market.

Now since there is a some what healthy market out there I guess they don't feel the need to make dual programs.

Personally, I like express because it opens quicker and doesn't take to much ram, but now that doesn't matter because of CPU power and RAM increases, so I am not so stuck on Express anymore. No reason to have 2 programs and updating 2 programs when you can update one.
