ObjectDock 0.99 will be released imminently. Amongst its new features will be full support for docklets (dock items that can display things like the time, weather, and other information).

Stardock has released the full Docklet SDK on how to create ObjectDock docklets. The SDK includes full documentation, source code for several example docklets, and more.

{mode: +homer} mmmMMMmmmmmm docklets {mode: -homer}

cgiggy: the docklets will let you have ' smarter ' objects more than just shortcuts .. the trashcan and clock objects already use them but Stardock is finally releasing the codes so we can see more stuff.

long live objectdock

I dont know if its just me, but when I went to the objectdock site, the new version is listed as available, but on download, it still downloads the old version..
Any idea? I wonder if its uploaded yet.. or perhaps is right now in the process of being uploaded..

Is anyone having success downloading the new version? It states on www.objectdock.com that the new version can be dowloaded. However, I keep getting the old version 0.95 instead of 0.99

I was told that Global variables are dangerous because it's like free love and everyone can use it.

yep it installs well. it sayd 95 but it install 0.99 build95.
The weather docklet is the only docklet working at this point. I tried using the other established yz'docklets but it didnt work. There are some missing functions in OD's SDK as compared to yz's, which hopefully will be available in future releases.

The file is objock095 but it's v99 inside.  Has to do with download.com.

I really like the ideas in this new version. Overall it's been neat to see the total progression of Objectdock. When I first DL'd it, I wasn't that impressed but with the way that it's going now, it makes life so much easier! Thanks to all you creators, dock icon-makers, and brains behind all the functions of this program!

Brad, When I first DLoaded ObjectDock I had let several versions pass me bye because I thought this app would be short lived & only a gimmick....how WRONG I was! With these new docklets available it can get only better! Thanks!

Woah, I am a stalwart Yz's dock user but man this is really starting to look good, I'm gonna use it for awhile to see if its as intuitive as Yz's.

Skelaton4 : Do You even know what this article is about ? Typical uninformed nonsense... You don't even get the names of the programs right...
Okay, back to topic : The animated object is nice, but I don't see a way to add a shortcut to it. Am I missing something ?

hmmm.. why does the weather docklet show nothing but US weather?? It asks for a zip code to query weather.com and when i use my country's code at weather.com the docklet just says "weather information unavailable". Well that seems pretty stoopid to me, for when you double click on the docklet, it takes me to my country's weather.
Could it really be coded that badly??
PS. Docklets are cool! Thanks for adding the functionality.

At last !!! Im so glad this docklet has finally got the weather updates sorted for other countries.
It took me a while to find the country code mind. if you search in weather.com for your city, the url will display the code you need. For example mine is Newcastle. i entered UKXX0098 and the docklet updated and displayed a grey, gloomy 6 degrees c.
marvelous.
