The public BETA 2 of DesktopX 2 is now updated. This new build has a ton of bug fixes and new features. DesktopX is part of Stardock's Object Desktop.

DesktopX is a program that extends the Windows desktop to support true objects. You can use it to have much nicer icons as well as use it to add scripted objects and such that you can download from websites such as WinCustomize, deviantART, Skinbase, and elsewhere.

ODNT and standalone dx2 customers already have access to this build. It's 1.99g.

only for registerd (pay) members i guess. cant find the update on the DX site. Anyways, where can i get the stock DX object?

All upgrading my DX does unfortunately is mess my theme up and kick up script errors everywhere.
So I have to stick with DX 1.2 if I want to keep my theme.

alicizmar:Try to find a way to slip into the latest build,I know what your talking about though.I have many themes I left behind for the new build, but must say I do not miss them at all because of the new, more stable, scripting enhanced builds.

brazil: Unfortunately the DX2 beta is not so stable for all users. I'm running XP Pro SP1 and every single DX2 beta has blown up for me. Until now it has just crashed at startup. Just with the recent 1.99g I have been able to start DX2! That is until I try to add a new object (from the defaults installed). Booom! So pleease Stardock: Don't release DX2 before you have got this worked out.
Btw. I have tried reporting this from the Help-Online Support-Submit Problem menu in Stardock Central but got no reply. Is this the preferred way to report problems?

does DX2 capture the win-key? also I hate when using win+D to minimize all windows and show the desktop, all desktop objects that are not set to always on top, are hidden.

hope they'll fix this
