Overall the numbers are great of course, except for the last one. It is surprising to me that so many frequent visitors are not paying for a subscription. Its only $10/yr how can you beat that? If you are into having different skins and the best skins for the best programs, its a no-brainer.

These stats are great to see who is using what to see where the majority is in the community.

There are still a huge number of people who think the internet and everything on it should be free. I am not shocked but I am bothered.

i want purchase WB and desktopX and maybe something else. i was going to subscribe but honestly i was slightly confused by the subscription agreement. i probably should mail frogboy but i'll ask here real quick.

i know i can purchase object desktop as a package and that gives me access to everything for 1 year. after that year do i no longer get updates? ie, if i get v2 and after year 1 v2.5 comes out i have to use v2 unless i want to pay for a second year subscription which entitled me to upgrades that year.

my other dilemma was trying to decide if i wanted to pay once and get just WB since that's what i use or should i pay $50 for the subscription and probably won't use everything else. trying to decide the best package for me is what was making it tough for me to decide and purchase.

i think a lot of hard work is put into the applications and i really enjoy WB but i consider most of them to be play things and not "essential." having fish swim around, fish tank seaweed move, spiders crawl on my desktop and cool min/max features are fun but it's not something that i say to myself that i HAVE to have. for the money it certainly seems like a fair price and i have no issue paying it but i just want to make sure i understand what i am paying for and what is best suited for me.

bottom line is that it's excellent software produced by someone who really cares about their work and i appreciate that bigtime and want to support it.

I wonder how many Object Desktop subscriptions there are out there and how that factors into the 1%? Wincustomize is hands down my favorite skin site and I am a regular (2-3 times a day) browser. Sometimes a submitter too!

I don't subscribe to wincustomize so fall into that 99% but I do subscribe to Object Desktop (which p.s. I love).

I thought I was a good guy but now fear I've been a villain...moral guidance and pastoral care from anyone who knows more about such nettiquette would thus be much appreciated...

Jim Jones............originally I subscribed just for Windowblinds (was about 3 years ago I'm guessing), then I upgraded to Object Desktop.

Personally, I'd say just get Object Desktop and be done with it, I don't really use WindowBlinds much now at all due to some issues with programs and their interfaces, but I sure do use many of the other tools you'll find on the OD network.......worth every penny in my opinion.

I wasnt aware you were getting that kind of info from my computer every time i come here. I hope thats all your getting...Dont get me wrong. i prob visit this site 3 times a day easy and like it very much.

That's the standard web log stuff. Every site gets that info.

That's exactly what you get: One year of updates and after that year you have to renew (for less: $35) or you don't get any more updates, just keep the stuff you have. But be aware that it's quite likely that WindowBlinds will be updated quite a bit, and if it goes up to another major version number, Object Desktop subscribers will get it for free if it's in their subscription time, but registered users are liable to an upgrade feew (historically $10). So you could get WB now, or you could get OD now, or you could get WindowBlinds now, and then upgrade to OD later if you decide you want to for only $35.

the bandwidth is MUCH indeed, as I run my own site now, I have it online for just a week, it has transfered 100 mb, and I dont have any downloadable files on that server. hehe, and I was scared that MY provider would become angy at me...
