Will SOASE become open source like FreeSpace 2?

Hi, i'm new here

Sorry if this have been posted somewhere, but i'm just curious. Will Ironclad release their source code of SOASE (after they stop supporting this game or there is something) as open source so the community? Because maybe the community can do something like unofficial patch or unofficial expansion pack for SOASE without hit the hardcoded barrier. Hope this thread will have developer answer.

Lol--not while they are still selling it and the last packaged release is only a few weeks old. Come back in a few years and ask again
