http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/longhorn_4015.asp
Our friend Paul Thurrot has put together a detailed look at the latest Longhorn build. Longhorn is the code-name for the next version of Windows after Windows XP. It isn't due out for a couple of years still so we're talking very very preview stuff. Check it out.

I'm glad they've got a few years to work on it given how bad that interface is!!!

Explorer.exe is now a .NET managed code application, but it crashes frequently.
sounds great, now they only need to bring the BSODs back and everybody will feel like home.

Hopefully, Linux will be a better developed alternative for the average user by the time Longhorn is released. According to the article, Longhorn will be the the first major Windows release since Windows 95. I thought Windows XP was suppose to be as big as Windows 95?

Every release they've had since Win98 has been hyped as being as big as 95

98 was a nice upgrade, Me wasn't a nice upgrade, XP is wonderful, but did not redefine computing the way '95 did.

Longhorn just might be as big as '95 as there are very signifigant changes to the UI and includes a 3D desktop system.
