2012

That's when the world is supposed to end.  What do you all think about that?  Personally, I think the calander just wasn't ever finished or wasn't designed to read that far ahead(Or wasn't designed that way at all...)

I just think it's ridiculous that everyone assumes the world ends just because there is nothing after 2012.  Does it actually SAY the world will end?

This is the third time actually. There was one back in the 1900s if I am not mistaken where some idiots thought the second coming of jesus would appear. Hundreds of people had their hearts broken that day when nothing happen.

lolz.  Let's take bets on what the next one will be.

My vote?  The world will end when Gary the hamster steps on a Trident Gum wrapper and squeals 3 times that remind a passing nuclear physisist of how depressing his life is, giving him the idea to launch a nuclear reactor into the sun and destroying us all...Anyone?

(I am aware that that probably wouldn't work...)

there are some countries that are making plans in case something happens. but noone will know until then.... Where do I get my green ticket anyway?  The bible doesnt say anythin about 2012 the christians just want to get a little credit when the sh*t goes down.. It was all the mayans and nostradamus baby.   The 2000 thing was just a ploy to get money to scare people so they could charge more for changing the one line of code that pointed to dates. 2012 is a little different considering the galactic alignment.  but hey what can we do anyway?

 

anyway I bet anyone who theinks it will end 1000$ that the world wont end in 2012.

Jeez  

The calender just resets just like how we return to january but our little paranoid minds can't think past a year.

And its not the world, its people. A little arrogant to think because people cause there own extinction the world will go to. The world will always be here even when the sun turns to a red giant an engulfs the earth.

I think that the most interesting theory is that the world won't end, but will change. Apparently humanity will have some great big mass spiritual enlightenment and we'll stop killing each other, start being fair with resources, etc.

None of it's going to happen, of course, because it's just a calendar changing. One day, an incredibly short-lived future race will, roughly every four weeks, believe that the world will end because the old calendars have to go to the next page.

Look around the board you'll find what religion I am.  You are right you can find it all religions, but Christianity is one of the most obvious that it is seen in.

I believe in precognition, but Altaux said it best in his little forum skit.  I just believe that nothing else could be written on the calendar, and/or, whoever was in charge of it died.

Just because someone can tell the future doesn't make them advanced as a species.

Why are all of you taking synn's raping and pilllaging quote so seriously?

As much as I MOSTLY agree with synn on the christianity thing, and the same for other religions as well, let's not get into that discussion.  Flame Wars have started over simpler things.
