Stardock has released a new version of ObjectBar. ObjectBar is a program that lets users create or download their own bars. The Windows Start bar, Mac''s Finder, Linux Wharfs, etc. are all examples of the kinds of things ObjectBar can do. It essentially integrates the best OS interface features into a single program.

The new version allows users to add hot-keys to any item on any part. These hotkeys not only can launch programs but access Windows system commands, URLs, and more. ObjectBar also can make use of plugins developed by third parties.

Here are some screenshots of ObjectBar in action:

ObjectBar is also fully skinnable and can autuomatically make use of WindowBlinds visual styles on the fly. It is a free download. Try it for yourself. It works on any version of Windows (one popular use of it is for non XP users to have a fully functional Windows XP Start bar).

What makes ObjectBar really special is that it''s been designed with functionality as its top priority. It doesn''t just look good, it can greatly increase your productivity.

Frog, I have a question (you being in the "know" about these things....) --- is there ANY way to set the z-order of a bar to 'always on bottom'? I ask because I'm building a OB Theme that would require the bar to always be at desktop-level so that windows can be on top of it. It's more of an experiment so far, but if there's a way to do it, it'd sure help me out. Thanks.
