Next week: CursorXP 1.3. Which works on limited user accounts, supports hyperthreaded systems, better, faster shadows, and uses less memory.

Week after: ObjectBar 1.6 which supports the new MCP so that when you boot up your system it's already set up nicely. Uses less memory and is easier to use.

Following week: The next generation version of SkinStudio. Version 3 has a MUCH easier to use interface, supports the new features of WindowBlinds 4, and allows for editing multiple skins at once.

Also in March is the release of the replacement to old Component Manager. Stardock Central.

It'll let you keep track of all your stuff from a central location and has chat and eventually message boards built in (And if you have a WC subscription we plan to eventually detect that and integrate skin downloads into it as well).

And then, last week of March, WindowBlinds version 4. Not only does it now skin all of Windows XP, but it now skins various dialogs and the command prompt! But a lot of people are talking about the performance of WindowBlinds 4. On many skins, it approaches classic in speed. In third party benchmarks it's more than twice as fast as WindowBlinds 3 and msstyles in moving and resizing windows and it is much faster than WindowBlinds 3.

All of this for THIS month. And to top it all off, the first episode of Stardock TV should show up this month!

I have the current beta of WB4. Is there a reason explorer backgrounds are not skinning. The skins I'm trying have explorer bg's and I have my explorer set to "View Icons" and the WB options are set. Got WinXP HE.

Wouldn't be bad to have the newsgroups embedded as a board system or similar into Stardock Central. Just a quick idea.

Nevermind,

I guess I should really read the newsletter instead of skimming through it.

c242: We want to, just can't find a newsreader OCX to do it. Otherwise we'd have to write a news reader from scratch.

barslinger you need to be an Object Desktop subscriber to download alpha WB software. I don't think it has been released to the public yet. Go here: https://www.stardock.com

Can't wait for this month ahead... and I didn't know anything about the new cursor XP... do registered users get free upgrades??? or will I need to pay to upgrade to the new version...????

On my home computer running WinXP Pro I can see Control Panel & DropDowns on Explorer windows skinned. On my Work Computer running same WinXP Pro but requiring CTRL-ALT-DEL to logon, I cannot see this skinned. ANy reason why?

P.S. Impressive work. WB4 in alpha form already skins all the apps I was not able to get skinned before.

Frogboy : Oh, I thought the msinet.ocx provides this functionality, too. Havent't dealt much with it though, only use it to dial up freedb in my own access cd-database...

Seems like stardock is dumping all users who are using anything BUT windows xp, too bad , I really liked their products and bought object desktop last year for that reason.

I believe Stardock is focusing on releasing WB4 for XP users first because of the advanced capabilities of the XP OS. I think they are planning an updated version of WB for 98/ME/2K users following the release of WB4. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they have any intention of abandoning users of other versions of Windows.
