Creative techniques and such would be a nifty idea.

I'd love to see something on ObjectBar someday too - for the life of me, I just can't figure it out. ^_^ (Skinning it, that is!)

Uhm.. Hrm... tips, tricks, things we may not have known of.

Definitely not awake enough to be offering suggestions!

Sminnable ? I dunno, something really cool....

Some sort of an mac clone, and seeing Toon XP would be nice.

Interesting? Yea! Helpful? Nah... Fun? Ofcourse!

What's 'sminnable'???

IN-depth advanced skinning techniques in ObjectBar and DX. Also, an exploration, in full, of Windowblinds. EVERYTHING SkinStudio can do to WB should be explored, I really think WB is the flagship and should be heavily featured. Everyone I show my laptop to wants to know "How you get those windows to look like that, that's so cool!"

I am so glad that you are finally
going to help out by showing some
tricks of the trade.I enjoy your
product immensely.keep up the great work.

A video of how Skinstudio works would be awesome! I've tried makeing WBs a few times but Skinstudio is just confusing me more than helping me.....

Maybe some vids of techniques for optimising DX/OB themes , WB skins, etc for performace and speed.

I'd like to see more of about everything, but most of all WB. When you start at this (sk(m)inning ) you really can get lost. Maybe it's an idea to link a poll to any video, to find out if you should do more of that subject or whatever ?? Ensures you of good public and more nmore gets skinned

I agree with Snowman... although I have made WB skins, I still find SkinStudio a daunting program. An in-depth exploration of how to use it would be great, especially if it showed information about image format (.bmp and .tga etc).

If you could show Treetog making a WB skin from start to finish, that would be the ultimate for me!!

How about before you go and try putting up video files, you guys get better performance on your existing site? It is notoriously slow already and adding video files isn't going to help any...

winamp 2,winamp3,and some neat tricks in creating graphics

Videos won't help much. What would be of great help would be a manual or PDF file. Something from the beginners view to the view of the advanced. A large fat manual. Stardock could put out a bestseller if it were comprehensive enough. I'd pay as much as 25 or more of the crinkle just to learn some of the basics on my own time without having to get on the web.

An overview of Object Desktop, showing what each of the packaged programs are for and how to use them. This would help the customer...as well as be a sales plug for Stardock.

I think it would be neat to see a sped of version of an entire process, from playing around in photoshop (or paper) all the way to the finished product of a skin suite. Not very likely to happen, but it would be pretty neat.

Realistically, I agree that any sort of tutorial for skin studio (objectbar or windowblinds) would be nice, but skip the basics. Their are excellent sources of information for the layout of the program and the images types and content. It would be more constructive to see advanced properties, shortcuts, etc.

Consider that my 2 cents on the subject.

I would like to see a click-by-click video of the basics to get us rookies going. Paint shop has good tutorial videos.

A video of how DesktopX works would be cool. A PDF file for WindowBlinds, DesktopX, and Object Bar would be more helpful ONLY if it is up to date. I think a shockwave or flash tutorial also would be more interactive.

I have to say that I agree with Old Crab, a form of instruction manual outlining everything from the basics (for absolute beginners) to hints and tips which would even make more the experienced skinner sit up and take note. Even a few tutorials/examples would be good to act as guidelines! Any form of video clips would help to complement such a manual.
Snowman and BoXXi have both said about skinStudio needing the guide and I would agree that it needs the guides (in the form of manuals or video clips) more than any other component of Object Desktop.

Just a few of my thoughts,
Max

I don't have any interest in watching videos of this nature but I would really like to see a tutorial for all the different programs. I find many of them very confusing. When I try out some of them I run into so many problems (most probably due to my ignorance) that I just give up and stick with the basics. Hold off on the videos and make a comprehesive online tutorial. Just my twenty cents (adjusted for inflation).
