New Master WindowBlinds Skin – Alluminate by vStyler

Master Skinner vStyler has just released another super-slick WindowBlinds skin called Alluminate.  This is what is described as a Mac and Windows “Hybrid” with hints of design from both operating system.  Different sub-styles are included which include Windows and Mac start button, and this Master skin works with XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

With the hybrid mixture, is there a substyle with mac-like buttons on the left side of window frames?

no, there is not, with two diff start button substyles for each OS version, adding one more for each of those for left side titilebuttons would have meant 12 substyles, it can get way out of hand adding substyles.

Thanks ID :)

Understood, thanks.

In offering different start buttons, do you have to make a different substyle for them or can you just provide the different image to the user to drop into the WB folder.  If you did that, would it work?  Assuming you provided both images and they could swap out whenever they wanted.

Yes that would work, but many folks don't want to fool with doing that , or know how to. People like to click and go |-)

They would still also have to open WB config and apply the skin for the changed image to be applied/used.

Yeah, I understand. But it would cut down on the subsyles for something as simple as a start button. Would be cool if WB had a function to change the startbutton like it does for explorer backgrounds. (hint, hint Neal) Of course, some startbuttons wouldn't work too well since they are created with elements of the taskbar in them sometimes...oh well.

It isn't mac specific.

It's quite daring to put the Apple logo in a skin and sell it btw... But I'm sure Apple will let it slip .... NOT! So grab it while it's up, I don't expect it'll be around in this incarnation very long....

If Apple wants to make a big deal of it, thats fine by me, Simple matter of pulling one 20 pixel image, and to get that kind of attention.. well.. that could only be infamy for me, not such bad advertising methinks. Besides, doubt they would try to sue me... 1. I dont have anything and 2. it isnt the exact, to the pixel.. design. :sun:

btw, I'm cooking up something new in the WIP section of my site, not windows, or apple inspired. :ninja:

John....'1' won't worry them...they'll get whatever you haven't got....;p

...and '2' ...that clearly doesn't bother them.  Look up Apple vs Woolworths...and you'll know 'isn't exact to the pixel' means diddly-squat to Apple.

If there is just ONE Company you do NOT antagonize it's that very same one that stole their name from the Beatles.
