Apple's Safari - pretty darn good

Some people may already know from my blog (https://www.joeuser.com) that I have an iMac. Well, Apple announced a bunch of new programs for it. I must say that while I can't recommend the iMac for most people, I will say that the Safari browser is extremely good. It's definitely the fastest browser I've ever used. I wonder if it's skinnable.

I must say I'm VERY impressed with Safari. I'd heard rumblings of an Apple branded browser but I was expecting more along the lines of simply a revamped Mozilla/Chimera/Phoenix. I was pleasantly surprised to see Apple had chosen khtml as the basis for their app instead. It's tiny and has some very useful features I hadn't seen in a browser before.

Based on Konquerer (*nix browser), it seems.

Have to say, beats IE on my Mac, of coarse everything beats IE on my mac. IE seams to be faster on my PC though. JMO

IE on mac is more standards compliant than IE on PC, so it's going to have to be slower. IE on PC cheats in several places to do things faster. I don't think Safari itself is skinnable, but there's already a Safari skin out for Phoenix (my personal favorite web browser for any OS, it's really fast).
