WindowBlinds 7 (trial) crashing explorer

Hello,

I recently tried WindowBlinds again after quite many years if performance had increased (which it seemed to have). Sadly explorer.exe kept crashing.

Usually I was able to reproduce it by changing skin to Sabertooth (Win 7, alt) and then to Aero Colors (if I remember name correctly) or by unloading WindowBlinds.

Windows 7 (64-bit) Ultimate, Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3 GHz, 4 GB, ATI Radeon HD 4750. Running background software beside WindowBlinds included Microsoft's Security Essentials (on-demand scanning disabled though). Attached below (from first to the last) the crash reports from Event Viewer, though I am unable to test more as I uninstalled Windowblinds (sorry, I need stable explorer ;)).'

The second crash happened almost right after the first one (unless my memory fails me, I was switching from Sabertooth to Aero Colors). The other smaller issue that initially when enabling Sabertooth skin the task bar preview feature (which shows the window thumbnail when hovering active program on task bar) was not working. The thumbnail preview worked fine after the crash when I switched back to Sabertooth from Aero color.

Was this 7.0 or 7.01?

An easy way to tell is if there was a "Modified Aero" theme in the list and if on first run you got a guided tour.

There is Modified Aero so it is 7.01. I reinstalled it again to see if I can trace the problem more accurately, now that I have some spare time. As clarification Windows 7 is 64-bit version.

1. Installed Windowblinds.

2. Activate Sabertooth visual style. Spot this kind of small problem: http://rihkama.kapsi.fi/pub/wb_taskbar_bug.png

3. Attempt to get it fixed by changing Sabertooth styles to alt and back (Windows 7), no help.

4. Switched to Aero Colours visual style. This caused a "what the heck" moment for me as instead of Explorer.exe Putty Tray (ssh client) crashed (which worked fine on my earlier tests):

5. Switched back to Sabertooth, worked fine, no crashes. Fixed the earlier issue of taskbar preview not working.

6. Switched back to Aero Colours. Explorer crashed twice.

7. Switched to Diamond and back to Sabertooth and back to Diamond, no crashes.

8. Switched to Aero Wood from Diamond, explorer crashed.
