[Bug] Online Game goes out of sync

 

Hi, Just found a nasty bug!

 

I was playing online with my friend, and we noticed after a pirate raid that our games were out of sync!?

Its almost like we are still both online, and we are still playing together (e.g If I ping a planet it will ping on his screen) but the events of the current game are completly different, ships are in different places on eachothers screen. Bounty is different, and the game takes  different corse (He might be defeated by pirates in his game, but on my game I get a fleet there in time to save him).

We did try saving and re loading but it continued from the off-sync point. We also tried reloading an autosave from an earler point in the game....but it seems to happen at roughly the same time, each time.

Any one else experenced problems like this?

Desyncs have been a problem for a very long time. The Devs have said they can fix it if every player that desyncs send them the desync logs.

One thing you can do to try to reduce the chance of a desync is to close and reload Sins after every game.  As I understand it, the desyncs have something to do with determinism of some aspects of things in the game and random number generators, and those random number generators need to get reset and the best way to do that is to just close the game and reload it after every game.  Supposedly this also reduces the chances of a minidump crash.
