Modding Game Info Question

Converting files to something readable

I have only looked around briefly on the forums, but how do you convert the game info files to something editable? I know there are plain files out there for Sins and Entrenchment, but I am trying to adjust a mod I downloaded to fit my preferances in game play.

If there is a thread that tells me how to do this, could anyone point me in the right direction? I can't seem to figure out how to get the forge tools converter to work if that is the way to do it

Simply run it, select txt, select the mod you want to convert and start the process.
