ObjectBar 1.0 came out and has been quite a hit with over 80,000 downloads. But Stardock wasn't entirely happy with the release. It felt it was too slow, too buggy, and too hard to use.

Version 1.1 addresses some of this with a much more stable, faster version of it that uses considerably less memory.

What's neat about ObjectBar is that it is so flexible that you can make a bar that looks identical to the Windows XP Start bar (on Win2k) that also has the features of it. At the same time, you could create a MacOS X-like "Finder" bar that strips out the menu bar. Basically any bar, wharf, finder, dock, etc. ObjectBar can do plus create any combination of them.

And as if all that's not enough, it's skinnable too.

Version 1.1 also includes full documentation on the ObjectBar website and information on its use.

Usually, the last RC available on the CM is the shareware/registered build - that's why it's a release candidate; if nothing goes too wrong, it becomes a release.

Would it be too much to ask for Stardock to take the trouble to tell us SUBSCRIBERS where our version of 1.1 is to be found? I mean, like, what is up with this? (And no, assuming "last RC" is it is not Good Enough. Really.

Update-wise, v1.04c that is on ODNT is at the same spot as the shareware v1.1, just the distinction of 1.1 for a public release. Likly to make a little update or two and release a newer 1.1 for ODNT in the coming days. Sorry for not making this more clear!

Very Nice....but it will never be better than a real Mac with Mac OS X. But be sure, i had a PowerPC with Mac Os 8.1 and a Pentium II with XP Professional and the ObjectBar extension with Mac OS X layout a i must say i looks and feels now better than thge real OS 8.1 on my Mac... thanks to StarDock.net But the only Problem i had is with the Hardware Resources...but who cares?

RHB, the enhanced version for registered users can be had from www.stardock.com/support and entering the email address you ordered under. It's on ODNT as well now and I've updated the downloads page on the website.

indeed you are right RHB.

1.04C = 1.1. Just a branding issue.
