Warp Speed, Scotty!!!

WinCustomize got its bandwidth upped today by Stardock. WinCustomize now has more bandwidth than many company's internal networks have! Hope you notice the difference!

definitely seems faster though i am not noticing as much of an increase as i would have thought. the pages seem like they are still taking a while to parse and process.

Coming into Wincustomize from home, there is a big difference. It is perhaps, as Jark pointed out, not as much of an increase as we might have hoped for.
My sense is that, with the USA Today review and the release of WindowBlinds 3, traffic is going to expand to keep up with our bandwidth.
Sigh. The price of being popular.

At this point it's purely a matter of SQL query speed. We're not maxing bandwidth now, but if you have 600-800 people on at once making SQL requests and ASP pages being parsed, it's going to have an impact. The next step would be to try to make it so that when one user reads a page or a library or whatever that it generates an HTML page from that and hence the next user who reads that page just reads HTML until something on that page changes. Right now, as I type this late at night, nearly 600 people are in the libraries. It's not necessary for all those pages to be generated over and over.

that, brad, sounds like an issue that is quite easily remedied.

Just takes time. WC definitely isn't slow now so it's not going to be that high on the priority list for awhile.

Certainly better than before, on a 56K modem anyway!
Thanks to all concerned.
Gotta go cable soon......!
