Can't update Frences Pro or Windowsblinds7

from WinCustomize Forums

I just tried to update the latest builds of Fences Pro and Windowsblinds7. This is the first time I have even had a problem with anything updating. I have reset the Data, Turned off all my security, rebooted the vomputer a couple times and don't have any idea where to go from here. When I start the download it only takes a few seconds and the it say "error retrieving data". Than I try again and same thing. Have canceled the downloads and tried again but always the same result. Running Windows 7 64 bit, 6 gig ram and all the good stuff. Suggestions please?

Give it a little time to get cured.....you're not alone...I've had the same issues in two VMs.....

i too have that problem only with deskscapes intead of fences.  still today still can't get windowblinds to update.  says the file size doesn't match.  dunno bout the other haven't tried today. i'm on vista home premium all up to date.

This is usually web filters in security software pulling out part of the download.  If disabling such doesn't help, post the last few entries in your Impulse error log.

how do you find the error log?  i can't find it.

edit:  I tried manually,  didn't see in the help tab it's there.  i'm making it harder then it is. LOL

another update: 

 tried impulse on my laptop with xp home.  No windowblinds update.  i have WB 7.0. on it.  regular fences gets the "error retreiving data" message as others are getting.  the newest WB is 7.1?  Icon packager got an update and ran fine. 

on my desktop i had to uninstall and reinstall to get Deskscapes newest update so it's fine now.

I'm not sure about reinstalling WB as i'm afraid it still won't downlaod and then i'll be screwed.

i got fences updated now.  must have been an overloaded server.
