Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

When I run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor on my XP Home it shows that win 7 is not compatiable with version 6.4. Problem is I upgraded to WB version 7 and no longer use 6.4. Just would like to know why. When I get around to installing win 7 I have to format anyway and reinstall my apps. I've checked the registry with no sign of 6.4 version also searched program files, docs and setting (all users and my user) and my docs, but I did see that using Impluse to install if your not carful to watch the install directory..... well I had two windowblind install folders one containing 6.4 version files. Deleted them ran Advisor and still points to 6.4 Really odd.

Deleting files does not uninstall a program. You should have used Impulse to remove the old version. If you have changed the install directory, then WB probably hasn't updated the older version.

If you are doing a clean install of W7, then it doesn't matter anyway.

Thanks for the reply. WB6.4 did not show up in impluse and not in add/remove programs. I did not just uninstall the files but was also in the registery, doc and settings folder, common folders etc... basicaly just manualed uninstall anything & everything that was WB6.4. You are absolutly correct if I am formating it does not matter anyway. Was just curious why MS Advisor didn't see ver 7. I installed WB7 through Impluse and it shows 7 installed in Impluse and in the About WB. Funny thing happened before I deleted all of 6.4 files I executed the 6.4 exe and it ran with the old 6.4 skin but About WB was version WB7. Thanks again for your reply. If anyone else cares to comment thanks but it's really not an issue. Just curious.
