My Oak Build (please critique)

Just wanting some thoughts......

First off, I'm a Rook player through and through. Now, that doesn't mean I go anywehre near him in multiplayer; I just have fun with him in SP. Secondly, I'm a massive fan of Oak and he is my Pantheon/Multiplayer Demigod. I do pretty good with him, although I'm still not that good a player (at all). I've got an Oak build that I think does some pretty good work in MP, although it isn't as good in SP when I don't die at all. Just want to hear your thoughts and opinions.....

OAK

Level 1. Shield1. Level 2. Divine Justice1. Level 3. Soul Power 1. Level 4. Shield2. Level 5. Surge of Faith1. Level 6. Soul Power 2. Level 7. Shield3. Level 8. Last Stand1. Level 9. Divine Justice2. Level 10. Shield4. Level 11. Surge of Faith2. Level 12. Soul Power 3. Level 13. Raise Dead Ward1. Level 14. Raise Dead Ward2. Level 15. Last Stand2. Level 16. Divine Justice3. Level 17. Rally. Level 18. Raise Dead Ward3. Level 19. Raise Dead Ward4. Level 20. Surge of Faith 3.

I am aware this could very well be a bad build for Oak, which is why I want your opinions on it. Clearly, there is no Penitence. I actually do use Penitence a lot and max it out, but it means I will trade off either all of Raise Dead Ward or a spread over the other abilities. Without Penitence he loses some anti-demigod power, but I think in the long run, Soul Power 3, SoF 3 and Divine Justice 3+Rally make up for that. He trades his only real signle-damage ability for a better support/life role. What do ya's think? I do get into the frontlines a lot, and I can adapt the build to have Penitence if I need it, but I think survivability and the effect of outlasting Demigods with Shield and Last Stand can do well for my team. I mean, there have been a few times in my short partake of multiplayer where an enemy demigod thought they could take me alone, and they seem to forget I have Shield and Last Stand and I totally destroy them. This often means I don't need Penitence, crazy as it might sound to some of you. Again, please post whatever you want; I'm open to any and all suggestions!

so only skill that you can attack with is your weapon. (lack of penitence) which means you need damage to kill other demigods. But you don't have penitence or spirit ward to boost your damage

I do have spirit ward; raise dead ward. Early game I'm mainly support for other demigods, late game I'm AoE support. I did say I didn't think its the best build at all, but for me Penitence isn't as useful when I have a combo of the other skills. This playstyle justs works for me better, and by the way I've got Surge of Faith. So actually I have three attacking skills; my weapon, my spirits and Surge of Faith. So no, I'm not useless in attack at all. And Soul Power boosts my attack power both by itself and in tandem with my spirits. I should have said "This build changes depending on whether it's better for me to have Raise Dead Ward early on", so my apologies. This was just the way I structure it in some matches, and it can work out as fine or better than having Raise Dead Ward early on.

penitence is a must when players try to run away, it's your snipe.  It's also worth tossing one in in the beginning of an engagement to increase the damage the other player takes.  Generally, spirits die instantly at towers, so they don't help until later anyway.

The builds in demigod are pretty fixed untill ballance changes are made, for most demigods there is only 1 or 2 viable builds oak may have 3 though. If your vsing teir 1 demigods the best build is assiassin oak up to a lest level 10 then you have a few options what to do after that.

I have to say after i saw the bolded "i dont need penitance" i did not read the opening post, you dont need to take a lot of skills but you will want to if you want your build to be any good compared to others.

The only sugestions i can give you are to be more like exsisting builds either assissin, kestrils (not spelt right) or moral oak. I think go read the post about kestrals oak as it appears to have simiar ideas to yours.

In pug game if you go oak (assuming no doubles) you need to be as good as possible because you are carrying your team for the late game and if you are looking for a fun build that only need to be as good as reg then you can do pretty much anything you like and you will suceed.

Untill somone ballances this game, the only way to make a better build is swap the order of some skills from exsisting builds, this goes for every demigod.

Hmm ok, yeah when I play Oak that just works for me, but I do use Penitence a lot....I'm starting to regret saying I use that exact build sometimes; I actually do use Penitence a lot when I play Oak.....I dunno what I was drinking when I posted. I'll live with it though, and it's a build that is there if it helps. But yeah, I know the spread is better so he's more varied. I'll keep that in mind; I'm already aware this build is quite flawed, and it's one I've only used twice/thrice; so yeah, I'm still a bit confused that I said I use it a lot. I'm just disoriented I guess, maybe I'll go take a break. Penitence=must. I sorta already knew that, but it's better when prof's tell me so I don't start thinking otherwise. Thanks again.

I find it best not to post anything on here anymore because you'll always have a few tards that spend all day long just critiquing everyone else's builds to try and make you look like a fool.

I know of 3 working builds of whom I like the Assasin build the most.

1. Assassin std build (Pestilence, Sheild, Surge, Devine) either with Cloak or BotF favor
2. Hybrid (see Kr5stel)
3. Full Minion build (PeterDumpTruck build)

you're still posting on a forum for a video game. Pretty nerdy. Don't insult your own kind ^^;
