Black snow?!

Black snow?!

Deskscapes 3 is great, I'm running it on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit final release version and an NVidia G-Force 9600GT

I'm having trouble with the "Snow" effect though, my snow is black! (not the snow backdrop that seems to work fine, just the effect that let's you put snow on any background) Shouldn't snow be white? It looks more like ash?!

It also gets stuck when the snow reaches the bottom of the screen and sometimes crashes explorer. Any ideas?

I notice you both have recent nvidia cards so I am wondering if there is a bug with the drivers.

It probably is. I have the 196.21 drivers from Nvidia loaded.

I see they released 196.34 beta drivers yesterday so I'll try them when I get off work later today.

I used Impulse to check for driver updates for my card, NVIDIA GeForce GT 120, there was one, 196.21.  I updated and rebooted and the snow is still black.  I'm using the snow effect on the Creek Side in Winter Dream in case someone wants to check it out.  :sun:

EDIT:  What, he got a newer version then me? :S

Didn't you see the warnings about not installing the latest nvidia drivers due to fan problems with them?

Actually I did not,but I did notice that on wake up from sleep with that driver the fan on my 8800GT wasn't running. (temp was over 100C before I noticed it) I had to reset EVGA Precision to get it restarted. Thanks for letting me know the driver was the cause.
