Windows 7 Upgrade Killed by Windows Blinds

Got a Vaio couple months ago with a Windows 7 upgrade option.  CD came in.  Ran compatibility.  Uninstalled various apps.  Now when Upgrade runs it halts and says Windows Blind 6 (or earlier) needs to be manually uninstalled to continue.  I have tried everything.  Uninstalled through Impluse, uninstalled manually, cleaned out registry, removed the wbload.dll and wbsys.dll files form system32 and SysWOW64 directory.  Does anyone have any input on this issue?

Thanks!

I'm going to take that after you uninstalled WB6 and ran clean up on the registry and the other stuff that you rebooted the computer.

Yes.  I have tried this several times, several different ways.

End of quote

I've done quite a few Win 7 installs, but unfortunately none as an upgrade.  One suggestion though would be to re-install WB6 .....set it to 'classic windows' so it is not loaded/skinning then disable/shut WB down, reboot and uninstall, with a final reboot.

Failing that... post a ticket with [email protected]  and/or wait for a more eloquent response here....;)

In the meantime...relocated this to the support forum...;)

Failing to reset to the default setting might be causing the problem.

I did an upgrade from Vista Home Premium 64 bit to Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.  Prior to doing the upgrade I reset all Stardock programs back to default settings.  I did though have WB 7 installed.

Did you delete the WindowBlinds directory off program files?
